“Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through life blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you. This way you can waste your life and lose your soul.”
I haven't been very good at taking time to read the Bible on my own or to study in any way. I have often come home from Church or some where else and thought I really need to take time every day to study the bible, pray and write. However, after a day or two something happens and my day is messed up and I don't. Then I get discouraged and give up. Again. I have now decided that I will take time when I can as often as I can but not put pressure on myself with a specific time of day. And it has been working. I have been taking time and not feeling to guilty on days that nothing works out. (Kids do that to your day.) I tried to start reading Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterson and well, I'm just not that philosophical, so I put it back for another time. I then started to read Knowing God by J.I. Packer and it's been good so far. Someday I'll share more about what I have learned from it but today (on a day when I don't have my camera because I forgot it in the car so you don't get any cute pictures) I thought I would share what I have started reading. (Yes I am also trying to read my bible and not just books about the bible)
What are you reading right now?
Laura
