Slippers

This week I decided to try and make some slippers for Zelda. I really like how the kimono slippers look but all of the knit and crochet patterns that I found had very square toes which I wasn't really a fan of so I decided to try and make my own pattern and it worked out pretty well.

1) I traced out a pair of Zelda's shoes and cut them       2) Blanket stitch around the soles. There
out. Using a punch I made holes about 1cm apart.         is a really great tutorial HERE.

           3) Starting to the side of the toe;                     4) Fold the pieces over the toe and slip stitch
2sc, 1sc all the way around to the end.              them to each other and to the sole. I then
ending with a 2sc. (I left 7 stitches to the           glued in some sheep skin and sewed on a
front.) The pattern for each of the rows goes:    button to help keep them on.
chain 2 sc in firsts stitch, sc all the way to the
last stitch, 2sc. Make 7 rows total. After the
last row I slip stitched seven along end to get
back to the sole. (right side of photo)

They are still a little big and fall off pretty fast but once they fit I don't think that will be a problem.
Let me know if you make a pair.

  1. Those are super cute, Laura! The best part is that you created the pattern. Now I am wondering what's next :)
